We use GitLab (this website), to track requests from the community and plan our initiatives. If you need help learning how to use GitLab, check out our documentation resources [here](https://gitlab.gnome.org/Teams/Engagement/General/wikis/Getting-Started-with-GitLab). Newcomers are always welcome!

## Engagement team priorities 2020-2021
The Engagement Team works to promote GNOME by helping our communications with users, developers, contributors, partners and anyone else who might be interested in the project.
We have out focus on marketing, design, social media, conferences and everything else between these lines.
For 2021, we strive to work on the following
**1. Give our public face a fresh look**
Our website is our public face. It is obviously dated now, and we make a priority of redesigning it to look more appealing to people who don’t know our project
The GNOME Project and the GNOME Foundation websites are going to be split, to leave more room for each to get more specialized content for its different audiences.
**2. Improve the onboarding process**
Newcomers journey is sometimes difficult. GNOME is a large and complex project. That complexity shouldn’t be an obstacle to newcomers engagement
Every person interested in contributing should be able to read up to date documentation and find people to talk to easily.
**3. Be the voice of the community**
We have a flourishing community which is doing a lot of good work. The general public should be able to see our contributors’ achievements. We will produce monthly transparency reports and also make sure to keep our social medias updated.
**4. Finding sustainable ways to support the community**
The Foundation was primarily created to support the GNOME Community. Maintaining our infrastructure has a cost. It is our job to find reliable sources of income to keep providing new services to our community.
**5. Ensure we have a cohesive community with close bonds**
Large projects such as GNOME need their community to have strong ties so they don’t crumble apart
The Foundation is in charge of the organization of events, the GUADEC being the most notable one
With the difficult situation the whole world is facing, we need to make sure we keep occasions to blend in and talk to each other.
## How do I get involved with or request help from the Engagement Team?
We have created various [project boards](https://gitlab.gnome.org/Teams/Engagement) on GitLab to help you seek help and get involved. Here is a brief description of each of the main boards you may wish to visit:
