Wiki Standards
I have been speaking with a couple of folks about the wiki and how it is a mess. Some have told me the Wiki is not utilized much anymore because of GitLab, and others state it is utilized by some projects and some not so much.
When searching for applications or things in GNOME, the first thing that comes up is the Wiki links, and because of that I believe that a bad Wiki page will result in a bad experience.
Now, I completely understand that manpower is always an issue in a project, and with this being a foundation and not a company, there isnt always someone over every project that keeps these things in line. With that being said, a fragmented Wiki not being updated by a group of developers and coders is completely understandable.
Now to my proposed solution and discussion on this. I would like to propose a committee of sorts to keep things uniform and to help these projects out. One of the biggest things I hear is folks that are not hackers, coders, and developers are not clear on what they can do to help. In this committee that would change that.
Please tell me what you think, and if there is something already in the works I would love to tag along to the discussion.
