Proposal for Project Launch: Faces of GNOME
Hello everyone,
I am Asmit Malakannawar. In 2022, I was an intern in the Google Summer of Code program under @cwunder, and I contributed to the Faces of GNOME platform for the community. The project is nearly complete, with only a few small tasks remaining. We are now prepared to launch the project.
Faces of GNOME serves as a platform for sharing the stories of our past and current contributors, highlighting their invaluable contributions to the GNOME ecosystem. The platform aims to foster a sense of community, appreciation, and recognition for the hard work put in by various individuals who have shaped GNOME into what it is today.
The key features of Faces of GNOME include:
Contributor Profiles: We have curated profiles for each contributor, showcasing their background, expertise, and the projects they have been involved in within the GNOME community.
Foundation Members: The platform recognizes the esteemed Foundation Members who play a crucial role in supporting the GNOME project and its mission.
GNOME Events Speakers: Faces of GNOME acknowledges the speakers who have shared their knowledge and insights at various GNOME events, helping to disseminate valuable information and encourage growth within the community.
Foundation Staff: The dedicated staff members working behind the scenes are acknowledged for their efforts in driving the GNOME Foundation's mission forward.
I believe that Faces of GNOME will significantly enhance the sense of belonging within the GNOME community and will also be an excellent tool for attracting new contributors and fostering collaboration.
I kindly request a few moments of your time to review the Faces of GNOME platform:
