Change the user profile with more useful information
Hi,
I propose in this issue to discuss about the user profile. This is the page that is accessible through the users/<username>
path.
First, I think it would be usefull to directly redirect to this page after a successfull login, or on an access to the welcome page with a connected user. This is the page where any contributor has access to its information and has updated information about its contributions.
Then, and as a direct consequence, I propose to update this page with more precise information. In this page, we have the following
- user information (avatar, username, and other details)
- language to use to display the website
- the teams the user is member of
- the current activity
The following changes should not imply any model update.
1 & 2: user information and settings
- display information in read-only on the profile page
- group these two sections in another Preferences pages in order to update the profile, the password, etc.
3: teams
- list teams the user is member of with maybe more useful information like the mailling list address
- is the “Quit” button usefull here or should it place remain in the team page?
4: activity
- move recent activities on top and order activity on the opposite way. Recent on top, old on bottom.
- split activities in which the user is an active contributor, this means modules where the contributors is a translator, a proofreader or made any other significant contribution of this kind. This will help contributors to distinguish the modules in which they are more likely to be active or in which an action is waited.
I will surely provides mockups, maybe @tomtryf who wrote #138 (closed) should be interested in discussing mockups or this issue.
See you!
