Wacom "left-handed orientation" does not rotate tablet
Enabling the "left-handed orientation" toggle for Wacom tablets no longer affects the tablet mapping. This setting is used by left-handed users such as myself to let us use the tablet rotated 180° -- conveniently placing the ExpressKeys under our free hand. This feature worked properly in previous GNOME releases but seems to have broken at some point.
I notice that the button mapping overlay (displayed when you click "Map Buttons") still correctly shows the tablet in a normal or rotated orientation depending on the setting. This clearly indicates the toggle has some kind of effect, but that it is not being picked up by whatever component is in charge of rotating the tablet coordinates.
Steps to reproduce:
- Connect a non-display Wacom tablet (e.g. Intuos or Intuos Pro) to a PC
- Open GNOME Settings
- Navigate to the "Wacom Tablet" section
- Open the "Tablet" pane
- Test the tablet mapping with the "left-handed orientation" toggled on and off
Expected behavior: when "left-handed orientation" is enabled, the tablet mapping should be rotated 180°
Actual behavior: when "left-handed orientation" is enabled, the tablet mapping is unchanged
System Information:
- OS: Arch Linux (last updated 2021-01-04)
- GNOME: 41.2
- Packages: gnome-control-center 41.2-1, mutter 41.2-1
Other: Being a mapping issue, I wonder if this is in any way related to another recent Wacom mapping issue: gnome-control-center#1568 (moved)
