Unable to remove review after changing account name and unable to post new review after workaround
Fedora Linux 37.20230326.0 (Silverblue)
GNOME 43.3
Wayland
Assuming the GNOME Software app is running and the Flathub remote is enabled,
- Search a flatpak app available on Flathub (e.g. Login Manager Settings)
- Install the flatpak app from the Flathub remote.
- Write a review and submit it.
- Observe the review appears under the same name as your GNOME user account name.
- Open the Settings app, navigate to Users, and change the account name.
- Go back to the Software app, click on Reviews and then Remove to remove the review you added in step 3.
- The Software app freezes and the review persists (!)
Workaround:
A. Revert the name change done in step 5.
B. Go back to the Software app, click on Reviews and then Remove.
C. The Software app displays the progress ring, and then shows the app page with the review removed.
However, when reproducing the issue to capture the logs, I found another issue.
I'm unable to attach a log of the original issue, because upon running the commands to generate the log, seaching for the same app as in step 1 in the Software app, navigating to the app page by clicking the search result, clicking Write a review, and clicking Post, the Software app freezes. I had to click Cancel and close the Software app. The gnome-software.log file attached documents this process. gnome-software.log
