Sound icon in quick access menu always showing speaker even if other output is active
Affected version
43.3 in Fedora 37 Workstation/Wayland (43.3-1.fc37)
Bug summary
Noticed while testing the fix for #6207 (closed): IIRC the sound icon on the quick access menu used to show the selected device's icon, whereas now it always shows the speaker icon. Just a minor annoyance in that it requires an extra click to check which device audio will come out of (e.g. before starting to play a video).
Steps to reproduce
- Select a non-default, non-"speaker" device (HDMI to monitor (which happens to then go to headphones) in my example), close quick-access menu.
- Expand quick-access menu: Icon on the (still collapsed) audio output drop-down still shows speaker.
- Expand the sound devices drop-down, select other devices.
- Icon on the sound devices drop-down always remains as speaker
What happened
Icon is always the speaker, missing the opportunity to inform what the actual output is without an extra mouse click.
What did you expect to happen
Icon used to (I think; or else, as a feature request, should) be the same as the selected device's icon. Quicker to check "am I going to annoy people next to me by playing audio?"
