Never stops nagging about failing to connect calendars
This issue was forked off from evolution-data-server#221 (closed).
When a groupware server gives a collection with an invalid calendar URL, Evolution will display an error message saying «Failed to connect calendar ...». See evolution-data-server#221 (closed) for a screenshot.
The user is given two options on how to proceed: Reconnect
or ×
.
Pressing Reconnect
just makes the error message disappear for a split second, before immediately re-appearing.
Pressing ×
makes the error message disappear for a while, but it eventually re-appears. I believe the duration before the re-appearance is determined by the synchronisation interval (default 30 minutes).
It does not appear to be possible to instruct Evolution to completely cease nagging the user about these invalid calendars.
Ideally there should have been another button saying something like Disable this calendar
which would make Evolution disable that particular calendar in the accounts hierarchy. (However, for that to permanently stop Evolution from nagging, it would also be necessary to resolve evolution-data-server#228 (closed).)
This behaviour was observed on Evolution 3.36.2 on Fedora 32.
