Rather than printing
__func__
etc each time, you might be interested in setting-DG_LOG_USE_STRUCTURED
, where the structured logging will automatically enable adding the code file etc (see also https://docs.gtk.org/glib/logging.html and https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/glib/-/blob/main/glib/gmessages.h?ref_type=heads#L316-337)(although that might be out of scope for this MR, and would need consideration by the maintainers)
Evaluate if we want to replace the calls to g_debug ("%s", __func__);
with G_DEBUG_HERE()
or enable structured logging.
