New and modern version of extensions web
I have noticed that the current extensions.gnome.org is very outdated, especially the look and feel of the website. My proposal is to design and develop a new and modern version of GNOME Extensions website.
I am both a designer and a frontend developer with some spare time right now, so I could get started on this. Just wanted to know if anyone has already tried to design a new look. I know that there have been attempts to re-implement it using Vue 2.
What are your thoughts about this?
-
Prototype a new and modern design in Figma using Atomic Design. (perhaps could take inspiration from thew new https://flathub.org/)
-
Implement the new website using a modern tech stack
- Vue 3
- Vite
- TailwindCSS
- PrimeVue
- Docker
- TypeScript
- Cypress
- Storybook / Histoire / Vitepress for documentation
- Component Driven Architecture by utilizing CSS Container Queries
