Waveforms cache files do not get renamed when renaming a recording
- Create a test recording (by default, it will be named "Recording 1")
- Notice
~/.var/app/org.gnome.SoundRecorder/cache/org.gnome.SoundRecorder/Recording 1_data
(or~/.cache/org.gnome.SoundRecorder/Recording 1_data
) gets created - Restart GNOME Sound Recorder (just to be sure)
- In the GNOME Sound Recorder GUI, rename the "Recording 1" recording to "Bananas"
Result: the waveform cache file is still named "Recording 1_data" instead of "Bananas_data" (and in my opinion, this should use a clearer filename, call it ".waveform" instead of "_data"). As a result, when you start GNOME Sound Recorder again, it will have to re-generate the waveform for this file even though it already had one, and there will be a dangling waveform cache file around that never gets deleted and can cause potential filename clashes in the future.
