Cancel button to exit selection mode is confusing
I've been using Secrets for years, but only today I had to move some of my elements. I noticed what I think it's a UX issue. I'm using Secrets 8.0 (flathub).
If you enter the selection mode, you see this:
This is what you see also after moving the elements. I wanted to close the selection mode and I was afraid that the Cancel button would have canceled everything I did. Fortunately it did not; it simply exited the selection mode.
So my question is: should you use an Exit/Close button instead?
How do other GNOME apps behave in selection mode? Photos, for example, uses a Cancel button as well to exit the selection mode if you don't do anything; but if you do something then it automatically exits the selection mode and this avoids the situation where you ask yourself "what this Cancel button is going to do?". Maybe you could use the same approach?
