Remove files from an existing backup
Reading : https://borgbackup.readthedocs.io/en/stable/faq.html#how-do-i-remove-files-from-an-existing-backup
I would love for Pika Backup to have a feature around the scenarios described by borg in the above FAQ.
Scenario :
- user adds folderA and folderB to backup plan.
- all is fine, let's say backup is 10Mo, archives 1,2,3 are created
- user adds folderB/isos and stores big files in there, archives 4,5,6 are created
- backups blow up to multiple Gigabytes
- user realizes disk is full, mounts the backups and lanches a tool to see what is taking up space
- user adds exclude from backup with "folderB/isos"
- archives 7,8,9 are created
- option A (removing archives with the big files) : pika identifies that removing archives 4,5,6 will shrink the size (or at least will remove files that were added later in the exclude list)
- option B : user wants to keep archives for the small files backuped up in 4,5,6 and pika does recreate commands for 4,5,6 with new exclude path, borg compact runs just after and the size of the overall backup shrinks.
Hope this is clear enough. My workaround for now is to remove archives that grew too big by hand, and it's tedious.
