All favorites lost in latest version
Environment
- Lollypop version: 0.9.906
- GTK+ version: 3.24.1
- Operating system: Arch Linux 64-bit
Bug
It appears that all my favorites or "loved" songs are now gone since the upgrade from 0.9.612 to 0.9.906.
This has happened to me before, which turned out to be because the playlist ID in the playlists.db
file changed on me after an update. I could then fairly quickly remedy the problem by updating the playlist ID of the loved tracks to the new assigned value.
Looking at the database to apply this fix again, I noticed that loved tracks are no longer stored in that database. Instead, loved tracks are now marked as such via the main lollypop.db
database.
I understand this was probably an architectural decision, but it is unfortunate that no upgrade path was provided from the previous version. I currently have over 1.500 loved tracks at the moment, which are not quickly retoggled via the interface.
I just wanted to report this so this could be remedied - and, if not, to warn other users of this problem. The loved tracks are not lost, they are just stored in the playlists.db
file after the update and not visible anymore due to the change in fields. They can probably also be migrated by writing and applying a few SQL queries on the lollypop.db
manually.
