wildcard not recognised?
I configured deja dup exclude /home/user/.var/app/*/cache
via dconf-editor, but the log shows this is not respected and directories such as /home/user/.var/app/org.signal.Signal/cache
were backuped anyway.
is this intended behaviour? if yes, is there maybe another, correct way to use wildcards? if there is no support for wildcards (yet), would you maybe consider adding it?
explanation for my use case:
Unfortunately flatpak does (and will) not support the XDG base directory specification and stores all app data in ~/.var
. therefore, instead of storing cache-files withing XDG_CACHE_HOME
(-> ~/.cache/
), flatpak apps store their cache within ~/.var/app/<app.identifier.name>/cache/
.
deja-dup excludes cache files in ~/.cache/
, but backups the cache files for every single flatpak app (that's 1,7GB only for ~/.var/app/org.signal.Signal/cache
). it would be great to be able to save the disk space without setting every single app-specific cache folder, e.g. by using wildcards.
