Attempt on creating backups even if turned off in the GUI
This is a rather flimsy bug report, as I have really no clue what triggers this behaviour.
System Details:
OS=GNOME 44 (Flatpak runtime)
Desktop=ubuntu
Locale=nb_NO.UTF-8
Home=/home/bnyq
Version=44.2 (flatpak)
Tool Name=duplicity
Tool Version=1.2.3
GSettings:
[org.gnome.DejaDup]
periodic=false
tool='duplicity'
window-width=700
periodic-period=7
delete-after=0
backend='google'
window-height=500
Previously I've been using Deja Dup, but during an update I've noticed some troubles and had to use some other software. Deja Dup remained on the machine, but turned off in the GUI. Password was removed for a last backup. Then I started to get prompts for entering the password, as Deja Dup could not run without the password. Strangely enough it insisted on backing up to Google, which I never use. It does not seem like anything is uploaded to Google.
There are no entry in crontab, also checked for root.
Checked dconf, and it does say it should backup to local store, as it did before. Most entries seems correct, except there is an entry for periodic
which is set to on. In addition there is a periodic-period
set to 1. In the GUI “Back Up Automatically” is off, and “Automatic Backup Frequency” is set to weekly. It does not seem like changing periodic
reflects in the preference dialog for the GUI, neither does it change the periodic
in the debug info provided through the About dialog..
I should perhaps mention that I have used Deja Dup for a long time, so this could be some carry-over from a previous version.
The GUI prompts me to create a new backup, and says it has never run. The previous content of the backup directory has been moved away, and there are only content there from the new backup system.
I will set the periodic
entry in dconf to off, and see what will happen tonight.
