Password is not remembered
What Went Wrong?
Password is asked every time backup starts, is not remembered. Dialog box pops up like so:
-----------------------------------------------------
[Back Up]
-----------------------------------------------------
Require Password?
○ Allow restoring without a password
◉ Password-protect your backup

You will need your passord to restore your files.
You might want to write it down

Encryption password [ ]
Confirm password [ ]

☐ Show password
☑ Remember password
-----------------------------------------------------
I keep on entering the password and checking ☑ Remember password
, and the dialog box keeps on returning. This is becoming obnoxious.
The only similar incident that I find online is #403580
I haven't yet researched if a similar option is available through the duplicity
command line.
Debug Information
(go to the About menu item, click on Debug Information, and copy that here)
There is no menu, best approximation shows :
Déjà Dup Backup Tool 38.3
I am on Debian 10 and XFCE4, the installation is a couple of days old. I've been using Déjà Dup for years, previously without fuss, except that one time when it lost the setting for the destination folder, which I ended correcting by reinitialising one configuration file, but I cannot remember which.
