Name filtering doesn't have “Only this” option
In Hustle's name filtering dialog, there were 3 choices for each name:
- Default
- Only this
- Hidden
They were not very well named but the logic went as follows:
- If at least one name is set to “Only this”, hide any message where neither the sender nor the recipient is set to “Only this”
- For all remaining messages, hide any message where either the sender or the recipient is set to “Hidden”
In Rustle, there's just a checkbox for each name (and family of known services – a nice feature!). The checked state effectively corresponds to “Default” above, and the unchecked state corresponds to “Hidden”.
In practice “Only this” was the most useful one. For example, right now I am re-implementing the “Enable Metrics <yes / no>” toggle in Endless's branch of GNOME Initial Setup. I don't know what Initial Setup's unique name is on the system bus – it changes every time I recompile and restart it – but I do know that I only want to see system bus traffic where the sender or destination is com.endlessm.Metrics
. I can't find an easy way to do this.
