Add ability to use custom artwork?
Shortwave version 1.0.1 Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon
Issue #436 (closed) (closed) was fixed, technically, and if the artwork URL still exists, Shortwave now retrieves the station artwork. However, there are some instances where the link to the artwork cannot be found, and thus, no artwork appears.
I noticed that in Gradio, a couple of stations with broken artwork links were still showing artwork in the app. I checked the artwork cache for Gradio, and I am assuming that Gradio is displaying that artwork from the cache.
I noticed, when viewing the cache, that some artwork I had tried to edit in Gradio was also appearing in the cache, even though the edit was aborted due to the no-edit policy of radio-browser.info.
I am no coder, so forgive me, but would it be able to use this functionality to allow custom artwork (favicons) for the stations with broken artwork links? That is, to override the usual artwork fetching (via URL) on a station by station basis. Or, for that matter, any other functionality for locally sourced artwork.
This is a beautiful app, and I enjoy the visual interface as much as playing the radio. But that is marred by the generic placeholder artwork that pops up here and there.
Congratulations on the release of Shortwave 1.0.1 stable !!!
