Some ideas
I keep seeing people reporting extensions not working on their respective issue tracker but generally it's just that the extension in extensions.gnome.org hasn't been updated yet...
I know extensions are reviewed manually so without more volunteer it'll be hard to improve the delay but would it be possible to:
- Be more strict with what shell version an extension support: force-disable extensions not explicitly supporting a given shell version.
- Warn about the fact extensions are manually reviewed so they might not correspond to their latest version available
- Display when a new version of the extension is under review, warn about the risk to use an unreviewed extension but still allow to use it.
- Handle nicely VCS:
- Incite people having issues to check the latest version from the given repo.
- Display the version + latest commit of the extension on the website.
- Show if there are new commits available.
