Draft: WIP Back button

Heavy work-in-progress on adding a back button to the bottom bar. Any tips would be appreciated.

The button would implement the escape key on the bottom bar. Would close this issue - #512 (closed).

Open question: how to trigger escape key press? Somewhat problematic in Wayland.
