Libraries overview structural issues
Under libraries (what used to be the platform overview), we have:
- UI & graphics
- GTK
- Pango
- Cairo
- WebKitGTK
- Files & data access
- GIO > File
- Tracker
- Multimedia
- GStreamer
- Networking
- GIO > Networking
- GIO > Socket
- Soup
- Avahi
- EDS
- Folks
- Settings
- GSettings
Issues I see with this:
- Some page, like multimedia and settings, are really empty
- The mixes the following (this makes it harder to navigate and for a newcomer to know what they should be interested in):
- common components that pretty much every app uses
- more low-level components which are less common to use (eg. pango, cairo, low-level networking)
- special-purpose components which are also less common (eg. avahi, eds, folks)
- Five pages seems like a lot
Perhaps it could be restructured as follows:
- Core libraries:
- GTK
- GIO > File
- Tracker
- GIO > Networking
- GSettings
- WebKitGTK
- Text, graphics and multimedia:
- Pango
- Cairo
- GStreamer
- Special-purpose libraries:
- GIO > Socket
- Soup
- Avahi
- EDS
- Folks
Also do we want to mention libadwaita, notifications, or anything else?
