Python2 necessary?
I notice that in commit 0de647cd @ebassi added Python 2 installation to the CI scripting. (Less than two years ago... which is AFTER Python 2 was already EOL.)
Does anything here actually still need Python 2? It all seems to work fine with just Python 3, on my system, and some of the dependency packages have dropped Python 2 support at this point. (Node-gyp, for example.) I'm trying to understand what, if anything, still has a requirement for Python 2.
(Which hopefully can then be eliminated — first the requirement, then Python 2 itself.)
One of the changes I proposed in !158 (merged) was to switch from Python 2 to Python 3, which I guess may have been a bit premature if there's still a need for Python 2, but I still think it's a worthwhile goal. Python 2 needs to die worse than Flash needed to die.
