There is a lack of guidance on how placeholder texts need to be written
Some placeholders in GNOME use a preposition and an article while others don't:
-
Search for an app (Software)was changed in GNOME/gnome-software!1569 (merged) - Search for websites, bookmarks, and open tabs (Epiphany)
- Search for an OS or enter a download link... (VM assistant from Boxes 43)
- Search files and folders (Nautilus) GNOME/nautilus!1042 (merged)
- Search settings, Search shortcuts, Search applications (Settings) GNOME/gnome-control-center!1526 (comment 1609984)
- Search for a city... (from the timezone dialog of Settings 43)
