gnome-control-center: Collisions in mnemonics in Accessibility; captions mismatch
Relevant information
- GNOME Settings version: 47.alpha as of before 15.04.2024
- Operating system (distribution): Gnome OS Nightly
- Error message: none
- Backtrace (if you are experiencing a crash): no crash experienced
- Screenshots: see below. They are named after their menu item name in the accessibility overview page.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open GNOME Settings
- Select "Barrierefreiheit"
- Select "Sehen", "Hören", "Tippen" and "Vergrößerung". Press the Alt key to see the accelerator keys and trigger their assigned action.
Page "Sehen"
Duplicate Access Key assignments:
- A: _Animation verringern, L_autstärke verringern
Access Key are meant to ease usage for users with visual or mobility impairments and to help all users to speed up their work. Colliding access keys can accidentally trigger an unintended action, especially in quick interactions, which hampers this goal.
Page "Hören"
Duplicate Access Key assignments:
- V: Über_verstärkung, _Visuelle Alarme
Page "Tippen"/"Texteingabe"
In the accessibility overview page it reads "Tippen", while in the following detail page the caption reads "Texteingabe". This confuses the user and expects him/her to guess whether "Tippen" and "Texteingabe" mean the same in the developers' minds.
Duplicate Access Key assignments:
- T: Bildschirm_tastatur, Per _Tastatur aktivieren, Eintrag _testen
Page "Vergrößerung"
Duplicate Access Key assignments:
- V: _Vergrößerungsfaktor, Folgen-_Verhalten
- K: Faden_kreuz, _Kontrast
I'd like to learn from the experienced contributors here, so I could possibly fix such bugs myself in the future. Therefore, I'd be grateful for the Git commit ID, when you will have fixed this bug.
