Storage space analyzer in the Settings app
Baobab (GNOME Disk Analyzer) doesn't look suitable for newcomers or inexperienced users. I think that showing this kind of stuff, for example, is very problematic:
There is Usage, which shows space consumption in a nicer way:
However, Usage isn't a core app and it's UX isn't suitable for desktops.
Other ideas
- Recommendations, like: uninstalling unused apps, configuring trash to empty itself automatically, deleting duplicated files, backing up data in the cloud to free up space, etc
- Show how much space apps consume (currently missing in Usage)
