Allow choosing display mode when plugging in new monitor?
Currently when plugging in a new monitor we default to "join displays", with the new display being added to the right of the current one (I think?). This behavior is not ideal for some use cases, including
- plugging in a projector for doing presentations (where you might want to mirror)
- a different physical setup (e.g. if the new monitor is to the left of the current one)
- if you only want to use the new monitor, and turn off the other one
All these cases currently require opening Settings and fiddling with options, which is not great. Perhaps we could streamline this by offering some of these options directly when plugging in a new display for the first time.
