Bundle 'Keyboard Shortcuts', 'Help' and 'About' to reduce primary menu
Issue
Many GNOME apps have rather lengthy primary menus, e.g. Text Editor (both variants), Evince, Image Viewer. The HIG demands these menus to contain an entry for 'Preferences', 'Keyboard Shortcuts', 'Help' and 'About App'.
Suggested solution
In my opinion the last three items are rather unimportant to a user. If they were to be merged into a single menu item, it could cut the default menu length down by two for all apps, instantly reducing the weight of menus across the whole desktop.
As for how to bundle them, I suggest just moving them into a submenu, in which the previous about item is renamed 'Version Information'.
Drawbacks
The elements can not be reached directly anymore. However, if it were to become the standard pattern, users only have to make the connection that they are now bundled once. Further, I'd argue all the three items are expected to be found under a 'About this app' category.
