Sushi design updates
I recently had some conversations with Corey, the Sushi maintainer, about the future and role of that app.
The main use case that Corey described for Sushi is being able to browse through file previews - say you are looking for a PDF, and the name and thumbnail in Files don't give you enough information, you might want to flip through a bunch of larger previews to find the file you're looking for.
We also discussed whether Sushi could be more integrated into the Files window itself. However, for technical reasons it seems best to keep Files and Sushi relatively separate.
What I think we should do is provide some updated designs for Sushi. This would likely cover:
- Showing back and forward buttons, to communicate that you can browse through files
- Moving the big awkward "Open With" buttons from the header bar to somewhere else
- Maybe using a light UI style rather than dark?
- etc
