Consider bumping activity threshold
The current threshold for blogs to be considered inactive is 60 days. Looking at the list of feeds at the bottom of the page, about one out of six blogs are considered active. The list gives ghost city vibes. Picking a few people from the list that I remember reading from recently, I can see they indeed posted back in August or September (e.g. Jeff, who is indeed active, last posted on September 6th, which is barely over the current threshold). I’m in a good position to know that inactive on the planet doesn’t mean inactive in the community, as I just celebrated four years since my last blog post
Default in Planet Venus is 0
, which doesn’t mark any feed as inactive ever. If we want to keep marking feeds as inactive, we should at least bump the value. A GNOME development cycle is about 180 days. Make that an even 200 with a bit of wiggle room. That would mean that feeds are considered active if they have content from the current cycle. How does that sound?
I can provide an MR with the change, I wanted to discuss this here beforehand.
