Update Required to Links in "How to Write a GIMP Plug-in"
I found three broken links or ambiguous references in my first few minutes of reading this tutorial:
(1) The page How to write a GIMP plug-in, part I starts out with a reference to an overall GIMP PDB Architecture diagram. That diagram is missing at the linked URL. It might be intended to be the similarly named diagram found on Wikipedia.
(2) The page How to write a GIMP plug-in, part II starts out with a broken link to the previous part of the tutorial. The given link is https://developer.gimp.org/resource/writing-a-plug-in/2/writing-a-plug-in/1
and it (obviously?) ought to be https://developer.gimp.org/resource/writing-a-plug-in/1
(3) [A text pointer, not a link] Shortly later on the Part II page, there is a reference to "last month we wrote a run()
function". It is ambiguous whether that refers to Part I or not (it does) because it requires the reader to know the tutorial's initial publication schedule. The phrase has become anachronistic since the user will no longer be reading it during its first month of publication. Yes, the astute reader can figure it out, but their train of thought in reading through the tutorial should not be interrupted by having to disambiguate the tutor. At the very least, that kind of sidetrack reduces confidence in the tutor. Please change that to "in Part I we wrote a `run() function" or something similar.
Based on finding three errors in a few minutes, I'm confident there are more. Please have someone knowledgeable about this topic review these tutorial pages. (I would be happy to be that person. Please tell me how to sign up to be able to make the edits myself. I have 40 years' experience as a technical editor. I will need to ask questions of a Subject Matter Expert who knows this topic.)
