Group sent e-mails per activity
Description
My translation team is fairly active, having multiple regular contributors who work on multiple modules in parallel and discuss questions using the "Comment" action. The team has a mailing list which is connected to activities on D-L. This results in a relatively large amount of mails. I often use these mails to follow the discussions and identify actions for myself (such as proofreading a module), without having to login into D-L.
Currently I have to scroll through my list of new mails and click through the ones with the same title to follow the actions for a single module, often times just to see that the module has been already committed, and thus no action needed from my side. This is quite tedious.
It would be very useful for my workflow, if the mails for a single module are grouped together into a thread in my mail software. This would allow me to get an overview over the recent activities more easily (and also to delete the mails if a translation has been committed).
I am willing to creating an MR for this feature myself.
Proposal
I propose to group mails for an activity in a module together. I'm no expert on this matter, but I think this can be achieved via the In-Reply-To
header. A proper mail software will be able to detect this and display the mails accordingly as a thread.
Potential issues
This change would not only affect me or my team, but also other translators that use the mails for their work. If some translators wish to see the mails un-threaded, they could be unhappy with the change. However, afaik a proper mail software allows you to ignore the In-Reply-To
header, so one should be able to restore the status quo.
