Add a way to follow future releases, and their translations status
After some years of experience in the GNOME French Translation Team, I noticed that, sometimes, we suffer from a lack of feedback from developers about future release that are, however, planned. Developers are supposed to send a message to the i18n mailing list, and from there, translators have to translate the corresponding modules.
In Damned Lies, module maintainers are registered alongside their modules. It should be good to provide us a way to inform us about future release directly on the app. Thus, translator could see, on a time line what module will be released soon and prioritize their work on them.
For bigger releases (such as a group of modules released in the same time, uhm… GNOME version for instance ), modules could be grouped so that a unique release date is associated with a release event (registered in « releases » app, if I’m good enough).
This kind of functionality would be very helpful to organize team work (I think…) because taking initiative will be easier, without having to wait for authorization from anyone to translate. Let’s say there’s a string freeze, l10n app will register this so that anyone will know they have x weeks remaining to translate before the final release, and intermediate releases. Let’s discuss about it, and if the idea retains your attention, I’ll propose you some models and develop it in the next months (not very available in those times…)
