Please add flathub verified token for Deja Dup to gnome.org
Déjà Dup Backups is an app that uses the org.gnome.DejaDup
appid (from old times when that wasn't forbidden).
This is purely a historical appid - I would not use that scheme if I were creating the app today, but at the time, it made sense to me (the homepage was on the GNOME wiki, etc). The project is still very close to GNOME: it uses GNOME infrastructure via the World gitlab group and is a Circle app.
Ever since Flathub introduced verification, it allowed my GNOME Gitlab account to be enough to consider org.gnome.DejaDup
verified. But recently, they are (sensibly) tightening that up and require the Gitlab account to be an admin.
Which leaves Deja Dup with two options to be verified on Flathub:
- rename the appid (maybe a sensible option... but is work I'd like to avoid if possible)
- include the
af2f2614-ee29-4dd7-9c05-7c54b2477b52
token at https://gnome.org/.well-known/org.flathub.VerifiedApps.txt
There is some prior art around verifying org.gnome
apps, but that issue was closed once they added gitlab account support. I'm now asking if that whole process can be re-considered, or at least a one-off effort for Deja Dup's historical appid.
Thanks!
