[gnome-terminal/vte] some bugs have gone missing
As first noticed by @egmontkob in relation to GNOME/gnome-terminal#250, it appears that, after a disagreement, user "Ricky-Tigg" has deleted their account. Unfortunately, it appears that along the user, all their submitted bugs have disappeared as well. These bugs contained discussion with the maintainers and contributions from other developers, and are referenced in git commit messages resulting from that discussion. The bug data thus is invaluable information for the project, that has however now been lost.
Now, the gitlab documentation on deleting your user account (https://docs.gitlab.com/ce/user/profile/account/delete_account.html) says that there are two options: "Delete user", and "Delete user and contributions".
I think gnome gitlab should definitely not allow users to choose the 2nd option (if that is what has happened here), (and arguably also not allowing deletion, period).
Can you find out how the bugs have gone missing (user or admin action?), and if it is possible to restore them, and prevent this in future?
An example of a missing bug that we definitely want to keep is https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-terminal/-/issues/242 which is now 404. In case it helps to identify the problem or retrieve the data, I could compile a list of all the bugs missing, and their X-GitLab-Issue-ID/IID (from the bugmail sent to me when they were opened).
