missing at-spi text at bottom of screen

Hello,
I'm getting an odd behavior when running some output at the end of the screen. The attached script reproduces the issue. It first prints a lot of lines to get to the bottom of the screen (assumed to be less than 25 lines). Then it prints a few spaces, \r, then waits for a second before clearing screen from cursor to end of screen, \n, and print some text. Don't ask why doing this, it's a testcase reduced from printing my zsh fancy PS1 prompt with vcs info support :)
The output on the terminal is just "mytext" on the last line, but in the at-spi events, one only gets ' ext', i.e. it seems that somehow the four spaces on the line above have dropped the beginning of "mytext".
For some reason removing the sleep 1 avoids the issue (I guess some delay caching effect in VTE).
I don't have much ideas about where to have a look at in VTE for fixing this :)
Samuel
