Description
Created attachment 193379 patch
This patch exports the new search functions (vte_terminal_search_find_next, ...) to the Python binding.
However, there is a problem with the vte_terminal_search_set_gregex and vte_terminal_search_get_gregex functions, because they use the gregex-type which is not known to Python. Some possible fixes:
- Add new functions which use a string with flags instead of a gregex (THIS is the only point I did in the patch with the vte_terminal_search_set_gregex_pattern vte_terminal_search_get_gregex_pattern function)
- Patch the gobject codegen to understand gregex and write a gregex module for Python (if you google you will find a patch for the gregex-module)
- Take a Python regex and convert it to a gregex (don't know how to do that, but it probably adds new dependencies to the re module)
(The same points apply to the match_add_gregex function which is currently exported, but can't be called)
