Corrupt database, lots of writes on startup
My session is choppy on startup, so I figured I’d look at iotop
to see if there was anything suspicious in there. tracker-miner-fs
was doing a lot of writes, for a long time (but it stopped after a while). I checked tracker3 status
and noticed many (1478) Database corrupt: database disk image is malformed
messages. I don’t know if the corruption and writes are related, or even if the writes were expected. I ran the following command after it was suggested on Matrix:
tracker3 sql -d .cache/tracker3/files -q 'PRAGMA integrity_check(1)'
--------------------------------------------------
Résultats:
row 1932 missing from index nfo:FileDataObject_nfo:fileName
This is with tracker 3.6.0 on an up to date Fedora 39.
I had a hard drive issue a few months ago, so the corruption might come from there. I’m totally find if told to just delete the tracker DB and start a new one from scratch, but maybe there is something interesting to get out of this?
