Audio from beginning of track n sometimes is repeated at end of track n-1
Many of the CDs I've ripped over the years with sound-juicer have an error where there's some repeated audio between the end of one track and the beginning of the next. When I re-ripped a few of those CDs with whipper (which verified the ripped data with AccurateRip), the issue wasn't there.
Here are my current settings and CD drive model, but I've seen the same issue in CDs I ripped as far back as 2005. I don't remember what settings or drive model I used then. Probably the default settings though, and definitely a different drive model.
$ dconf dump /org/gnome/sound-juicer/
[/]
audio-profile='audio/x-flac'
base-uri='file:///home/dseomn/Music/archive/cd'
file-pattern='%dN. %ta - %tt'
paranoia=['fragment', 'overlap', 'scratch', 'repair']
path-pattern='%as/%at'
$ cat /sys/block/sr0/device/model
DRW-24B1ST j
In case it helps anyone else, I wrote a script to find CDs with the issue in my collection: https://github.com/dseomn/miscellaneous/blob/main/find-inter-track-repeated-audio
