Shotwell's autoenhance feature is great. It might still not be the equal of iPhoto's autoenhance, however. As we've discussed a few times, we should autoenhance a bunch of photos both in Shotwell and iPhoto, then perform a blind comparison test (perhaps through a web application) to see how often people prefer each version. This may reveal ways in which we can improve our algorithm.
