Original description:
Since Ubuntu doesn't offer an obviously easy way to set the default (XDG) Pictures directory, and Shotwell uses that directory for its library, offer a way for the user to set it. If changed, Shotwell will need to migrate its library into the new directory.

Shouldn't this be configurable by the distribution?
Better I think to have a plugin/extension to allow the various paths to be changed/modified (the plugin would update the database to reflect the new path)
