"Import from folder" failing when selecting folder from Android phone
Mandatory: Shotwell version the issue was seen with
Shotwell 0.30.18 (Flathub)
The expected behaviour
Shotwell imports my photos as usual
What was actually happening
After selecting a folder from my Android phone (conencted to USB) and choosing either "Copy pictures" or "Import without copying" in the import pop-up, nothing happens. Selecting a folder from my local hard drive does not reproduce the issue.
The following error is displayed on the terminal:
$ flatpak run org.gnome.Shotwell
(shotwell:2): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: 16:12:41.600: g_file_new_for_uri: assertion 'uri != NULL' failed
L 2 2023-04-22 16:12:41 [CRT] app_dirs_is_in_import_dir: assertion 'G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE_TYPE (file, g_file_get_type ())' failed
Steps to reproduce the issue
Connect and Android phone with stored image files to the computer using USB On the Android phone, enable File transfer (Mass storage) In Shotwell, click on File > Import from folder... and select a folder from the Android phone Click on either "Copy pictures" or "Import without copying" in the import pop-up
