Adjusting time does not work
Mandatory: Shotwell version the issue was seen with
shotwell-0.31.7-1.fc37.aarch64.html
Issue not seen with last version for Fedora 36 (shotwell-0.31.4-1.fc36) and not seen with version installed from flathub (0.30.17)
The expected behaviour
Adjusting time was/is straightforward:
- Imported photo should show the same time on Image Viewer & Shotwell (8am)
- Ajust time by 1 hour backward on Shotwell
- It updates the time of the photo by 1 hour backward
- New time is 1 hour less (7am) and exposure time (in extended information) is also 7am.
As an observation, the created exif original time is 6am UTC (as expected if photo was taken in UTC+2 but no idea where this information is stored)
What was actually happening
- Time of the photo (as per Image Viewer) is 8am, no exif time value
- After importing with Shotwell, time of the photo (on Shotwell) was +1 hour (9am) both for the exposure time value and time value,
- This change was not written in the original photo before I adjusted the time
- Select adjust time and select to shift it backward by one hour
- Time on Shotwell now shows 9am (+1 hour) with exposure time at 10am (+2 hours).
Still as an observation, the exif original time value is 8am UTC
Steps to reproduce the issue
Steps followed are just to change time (select a photo, adjust time, 1 hour backwards).
Possible link with the following bug: #118 where I initially posted the above as a response.
I cannot see any timezone information in the data of the photo (though I know that the timezone where the photos were taken was +2 hours ahead)
Bug repeated after full re-install, importing image or copying image, etc. Also issues with shifting the time forward. Also repeated in a virtual machine that's a mirror of my desktop. I'll feel more comfortable investigating there.
