Jaunty comes with libgphoto 2.4.2, which is over a year old now (it was released in July 2008). If you upgrade to libgphoto 2.4.6, which will be included in Karmic, does the problem go away?

I was using libgphoto 2.4.6 when this problem occurred.

I just tried importing using libgphoto 2.4.2 and iPhone OS 3.0.1. It worked fine.
Rob, could you try again once you've upgraded your iPhone to 3.0.1?

I've tested this on several iPhones running 3.0 without fail. I've sent a debug log to the gphoto guys (alas, with no response yet). If we get more reports we'll re-open this ticket.
