Shotwell "Print to File" creates surprisingly large .pdf files.

Description
Overview:
Using Shotwell's "Print to File" facility to combine two .jpg files into one .pdf, the file size grew enormously. A 1.9 MB .jpg and a 2.0 MB .jpg were printed to a .pdf file. Depending on the orientation, the resulting file was 15.7, 24.2, or 75.0 MB.
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Shotwell 0.22.0
Steps to reproduce:
Run Shotwell Select two .jpg files Select File>Print. Under the "General" tab, select "Print to File" Under the "Page Setup" tab, select "Pages per Side" 1 and "Orientation:" Portrait Under the "Image Settings" tab select "Autosize:" "Fill the entire page" Select "Print"
Filesize 75.0 MB. (This is a two-page .pdf.)
If, in the above scenario everything is left the same but "Autosize:" "2 images per page" then "Print", the file size is 24.2 MB. This is a one-page .pdf.
Leaving "Autosize:" "2 images per page" and changing "Orientation:" to "Landscape" on the "Page Setup" tab, the file size is 15.7 MB. This, too, is a one-page .pdf.
The files involved are too large for me to attach using bugzilla's reporting mechanism, but I'll be happy to submit them in some other way if that's helpful.
