Original description:
I'm running Ubuntu Studio 13.04 raring. Today, after following the usual prompts, I let my Synaptic Package manager, as usual, to perform the latest updates. I noticed, as the updating process evolved in my terminal window, that Shotwell was on the scrolling list.
After that, now Shotwell (0.14.1) crashes, meaning when I mouse over items, and click on it, the item I chose doesn't get highlighted and sometimes the item eventually (@30 secs. later) opens, but frequently I get a message popup saying "This program is not responding...do you want to close it?"....

Can you run Shotwell like this from a terminal window:
$ gdb shotwell
Type "run" at the gdb prompt to start Shotwell. When it crashes, type "bt" at the prompt. If you could paste the output of that command into a comment here, that would be a great help!
