Original description:
I have started using an Android smartphone and discovered that the built-in camera app names the images with a SPACE in the filename. It is possible for this to occur from other import sources, as well. Filenames with spaces within them totally screw up many Linux programs that may be subsequently applied to the Pictures directory contents.
It would be most useful if Shotwell's import function included an option, possibly as check-box, to replace any white-space in the filename with a "-" or "_", for example.
