Original description:
Hi there,
I get the error that I cannot import any pictures because the library folder is not writable. However, the pictures are copied into the respective folder in my ~/Pictures folder. I have checked both .cache/shotwell and .local/share/shotwell and these folders and files are all writable.
Maybe one thing: my ~/Pictures folder is on an NTFS partition that has given me some errors like this before, when applications tried to change file attributes (evince, when saving a file, for instance).
I attached the log file, that mostly complains about lacking time data in the pictures.
I am using 0.15.0, but that's not in the dropdown list down there.

- Status changed from Open to Need Information
We've had other reports of problems importing from and to an NTFS drive. If you copy the files to your ~/Pictures manually (using Nautilus), are you able to import them into Shotwell then?

- File Shotwell Import Log.txt added
I have some supplementary information: I exported the error log that you get when you chose 'Save Details', it is attached. Apparently, Shotwell tries to change the owner of the new file, which is not possible on this FS.
I will try with manual copying and feed back.

Yes, it does work when I copy the files manually into the library folder and I import them from there.
