Original description:
On my home Precise machine, I'm unable to upgrade Shotwell. When I try through
apt-get upgrade
, I get the message in the title of this ticket.
I'm all but positive this is due to the recent migration to GStreamer 1.0. Either we need up update our control file or, if that's not sufficient for an install/upgrade on an otherwise clean Precise machine, we should quit offering Shotwell for Precise on the PPA. I don't want to back out the GStreamer migration because it appears to have solved many of our video issues.

I remembered that we can copy packages from other PPAs into ours. I've done that, copying the gstreamer-1.0 package for Precise from the GStreamer Developer's PPA to ours. I will check tonight if that solves our problem (hence I'm moving this to Review).

It turns out we also need to copy in the gst-base-plugins-1.0 package as well. The Precise AMD64 version of that is broken on Launchpad, however. I've contacted the uploader (Jason Derose) and asked him if he knows when/if it will be fixed.

This is fixed in the Daily Build PPA. If we release 0.14 for Precise, we'll need to make the gstreamer-1.0 packages available on our main PPA as well.
