Original author: Clinton Rogers
Original description:
Steps to reproduce:
- Import a camera-raw image into Shotwell.
- Switch the developer mode for the image from step one. (e.g. Shotwell -> Camera).
- Switch the developer mode again.
- Navigate to where the image from step one was imported to (normally
~/Pictures/(year digits)/(month digits)/(day digits)
). - Locate and delete the development images, but leave any user-imported files intact (to wit: for XXXX.srw, XXXX_shotwell.jpg and XXXX_embedded.jpg would be deleted, but XXXX.jpg shouldn't be).
- Attempt to view the image from step one from within Shotwell and observe the results.
Notice that, even when switching between developments, the application fails to generate the requiref files.
Related issues:
- duplicated by shotwell - 5765: regenerate RAW development files if missing (Fixed)
- duplicated by shotwell - 6350: Accidentally deleted files ending with *_shotwell.jpg (Duplicate)

Please review the branch [bug/6237-regen-developments SHA 0114701cfc33e6605186 43230bdc9d6e6f8a613a](http://redmine.yorba.org/projects/shotwell/repository/re visions/0114701cfc33e660518643230bdc9d6e6f8a613a) for a fix.
Note: It's still possible to get into a state where the application can't display the developed image by doing the following:
- Entering the photo page.
- Deleting the current development of an image from the filesystem, then...
- Quickly navigating to the image from step two while the development is being remade.
If the user navigates to it before the developed file has been created, there won't be anything ready to display yet, and the 'photo file missing' message will appear as usual. This is believed to fall outside normal use of the application.
